  • The new office will focus on engineering talent and will support existing and future German Navy contracts

July 11, 2024 – OSI Maritime Systems (OSI) is pleased to announce the forthcoming opening of its newest office in Kiel, Germany. This strategic expansion will strengthen OSI’s presence in the region and ensure close proximity to our German customers and the company’s local industry partners.

The Kiel office, spearheaded by Sven Rohde, will enable OSI to better serve its customers and tap into the local talent pool of naval engineering and systems delivery experts. Mr. Rohde brings over 20 years of experience with major German naval defence contractors, with expertise across a number of German Navy ships and submarines.

“We’re very excited to have Sven join us; his experience aligns perfectly with OSI’s leadership in Integrated Bridge and Navigation Systems and Warship ECDIS. We are constantly seeking ways to deliver exceptional service and support to our customers, and this new stage in OSI’s growth reflects that commitment,” said Ken Kirkpatrick, President & CEO. “The new location will allow us to address customer needs promptly and efficiently.”

OSI supplies navigation systems to the majority of the German Fleet, including the F126 Frigates and over 35 combatants as part of the K130 Batch 1 and RadEA navigation suite upgrade programs. Additionally, OSI is providing ECPINS WECDIS to BAAINBw and the Naval Operations Schools for navigation training.

Jim Davison, Vice President of Business Development, stated, “The addition of the German office is an exciting step in OSI’s European strategic growth and solidifies OSI’s commitment to supporting the German Navy.”

To mark the opening of the new office and celebrate OSI’s growing presence in Germany, the company will exhibit at the DWT-Marineworkshop event from September 23 – 25, 2024.
