The Manager has the overall management responsibility for resources within the Systems Engineering Department. The Manager is accountable for the provisioning of suitably equipped and qualified team members to complete project activities as assigned.
• Conduct planning for the Systems Engineering team to ensure that the necessary resources1 are available to allocate to projects in accordance with the company’s overall business plan.
• Ensure Systems Engineering team members have the required training, skills, tools, standards, processes and knowledge required for them to make delivery as part of their assigned project team.
• Initiate and sustain process improvement initiatives to ensure best practices are applied to Systems Engineering.
• Engage with industry to maintain awareness of best practice.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to develop quality control procedures.
• Drive, through Continuous Improvement, greater efficiency in the execution of activities.
• Ensure that Company ISO 9001 and CMMI procedures and policies are maintained.
• Ensure optimal workforce planning within the Systems Engineering team.
• Support the VP, Product Development in the development of detailed product road maps.
• Follow workplace operating, environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines.
• Mentor and collaborate with Systems Engineering team members to ensure ongoing professional development and skill advancement.
• Provide guidance and ensure subject matter expert support is delivered to Systems Engineering team members when requested by the Project Manager/Project Engineer.
• Accountable for the effective onboarding of all Systems Engineering team members.
