Canadian Poster Child of the ITB Program

• OSI celebrates ongoing international success.
• OSI continues to generate substantial Canadian content.
• OSI is a poster child for the growth of Canadian companies under the Canadian National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) and Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) policy.
• Since the launch of NSS, OSI has expanded its customer base by 30% and workforce by over 400%.
• OSI is attending CANSEC 2025 to connect with the international supply chain and customers.

Canada’s OSI Maritime Systems (OSI) is marking another banner year of international growth as it prepares to attend CANSEC 2025. The company continues to thrive on the momentum of the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), leveraging this critical initiative to expand globally and solidify its position as a global leader in integrated navigation and tactical solutions for NATO and Allied navies.

The NSS and underlying Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) policy have been an instrumental force in driving OSI’s success internationally. The ITB Policy mandates that companies awarded major Canadian defence contracts utilize Canadian suppliers and labour that, in turn, reinvest into the Canadian economy, fueling both innovation and job growth across the country. This policy not only strengthens Canada’s domestic defence supply base and technological capabilities but also opens doors for OSI to integrate into international supply chains.

Since the inception of the NSS, OSI has achieved impressive growth: increasing its international customer base by 30% and expanding its workforce by over 400%, now employing more than 360 skilled professionals in software, hardware, systems engineering, production, and technical support.

OSI’s attendance at CANSEC 2025 highlights its commitment to furthering these global connections and the continued adoption of OSI’s industry leading products. The company will engage with international suppliers and customers to discuss opportunities related to the ITB policy and its role in enhancing Canadian content within global supply chains for current NSS and future defence programs (such as the Canadian Patrol Submarine Program CPSP).

The National Shipbuilding Strategy is a multi-billion-dollar commitment to renewing Canada’s federal fleet, and it has proven instrumental in strengthening Canada’s maritime industry. With the continued success of programs like the NSS and ITB, OSI is well-positioned to contribute to the future growth of Canada’s global maritime presence.

“Without a doubt, NSS provided a launch pad for OSI to accelerate its growth into international markets while allowing us to stay true to our Canadian roots by utilizing Canadian labour and suppliers content on every project we undertake. As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue expanding our global footprint while contributing to Canada’s technological leadership in the maritime sector.”

“Attending CANSEC 2025 is an exciting opportunity for OSI to further cement our place within the global supply chain. The ITB policy has opened doors for us to collaborate with international partners, ensuring Canadian innovation is at the forefront of maritime defence. We are proud to be part of a strategy that not only strengthens our industry but also creates lasting economic value for Canada. I personally am inviting you to meet with OSI, to discuss our experience under the ITB policy in Canada and how OSI can contribute Canadian content.”
